Event Submission Policy
Submit an Event
Do you have a helpful tip you want to pass along, an event you are helping to promote, or other news to share with your St. James neighbors?
Its FREE and EZ to Submit an Event for inclusion in our weekly newsletter and/or publication on our online Calendar of Events.

You will need:
- Name of Event
- Date, Time, Location
- Contact Info (Name, Phone, Email)
- Description (up to 150 words)
- Logo or Picture (optional upload)
- Event URL (optional)
Please Note:
Once an event is uploaded it will not be published until the Publisher approves it. After approval the event will be posted in real-time to the online Events Calendar. For inclusion on the weekly newsletter the event must be received by Tuesday at Noon for a THURSDAY publication of newsletter. Although we try, not all Events will be featured on the newsletter.
- Publication to the Event Calendar is in real-time after approval from the Publisher
- Deadlines for inclusion in the weekly newsletter is Tuesday @ Noon for that THURSDAY’s Publication. *
*We will make every effort, however, If the number of articles submitted for a specific issue is excessive, newsletter inclusion my not be possible.
Publishing Guidelines
Our intent is to present community news in a format that is easy to access, easy to respond to, and overall, an enjoyable experience for you. Following these guidelines will help achieve this goal.
General:
- Anyone may submit articles for publication.
- Make certain that dates, locations, and meeting times are accurate.
- Generally, articles will be published as the writer submits them. Obvious grammar, spelling errors and date/time formatting will be “gently corrected” or “slightly edited” by the publishers.
- If you are listing a future event, you may post one long copy article and one shorter copy “reminder” article.
- Event articles will automatically be added to our online community events calendar in real-time after the publisher has approved the content.
- Individuals may submit articles to sell personal items (car, boat, furnishings, etc.). It’s helpful to submit a photo of the item(s).
Business Article Submissions:
Only Business Advertisers may submit announcements providing information about their business, products, or services. An individual is considered to be conducting a business if they are routinely providing a product or service for which they receive compensation. This may be in the form of a traditional storefront business or an at home business.
Submissions that announce shows, displays, markets, fairs, etc., where products are offered for sale by vendors, may only feature information about the event and not specific vendors, unless that vendor is a business advertiser.
Non-Profit Organizations:
We welcome submissions of general public interest from non-profit organizations.
All articles will be reviewed by the publishers prior to publication. While every effort will be made to publish all articles submitted, the final decision as to the suitability will be made by the publisher.
Articles will not be published that are primarily focused on controversial topics, decisions by the Town of St. James, policies of the St. James POA, programs and memberships at The Clubs at St. James Plantation, or any other official organization, or articles considered by the publishers as slanderous, discriminatory, accusatory, lewd, or critical of individuals, businesses, or organizations.
The publisher makes neither recommendations nor warranties of a specific business, non-profit, or individual AND cannot be held accountable for the quality of any services performed or products acquired.
