NC Reads – Virtual Book Club

Join Friends of the Library Southport & Oak Island for NC Reads, the NC Humanities virtual statewide book club formerly known as “Let’s Talk About It.”
On Saturday, November 16, we are featuring “Poster Girls,” the debut novel by Meredith Ritchie at Harper Library, 109 W. Moore St. in Southport. Join a book club-style conversation with Ritchie and UNCW history professor Dr. Tara White. The discussion will include the changing role of women in the workforce, America’s struggles with sexism and racism, and friendship through adversity.
This special event features 2 sessions (each limited to 24 participants): 10:00am and 2:00pm. Registration ($10) is required and includes a copy of the book and light refreshments. Books are available with payment at Harper Library or Barbee Library, 8200 E. Oak Island Dr. in Oak Island, on request. To register, stop by Harper Library, call (910) 457-6237.
