American Legion Post 543 Memorial Poppy Distribution

The Richard H. Stewart, Jr. American Legion Post 543’s Annual Poppy Distribution is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, May 25^th & May 26^th, at Lowe’s Hardware in Southport, NC from 9 a.m. till 3 p.m. Each year the Post distributes these bright red Poppies to commemorate those who have sacrificed their lives in wars in order to secure and maintain the freedoms we all experience.  If you would like to learn more about this international symbol in support of veterans go to this Reader’s Digest website https://www.rd.com/article/memorial-day-poppies/. There is no charge for the Poppy, but the Post will accept donations to help support its 70+ services supporting LOCAL Veterans, Active-Duty and the LOCAL children and youth of the SE Brunswick County Area.  Post 543 is a non-profit Veterans Service Organization serving our LOCAL community.  Thank you for your support! “Our Nation owes a debt to its fallen heroes that we can never fully repay.”
