Freedom From Smoking® Group Program

July 16 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Brunswick County Health Services is now offering the American Lung Association’s Freedom From Smoking® Group Program. This trusted program has helped hundreds of thousands of people become tobacco-free nationwide. In this free, seven-week program, participants will work with other people who are quitting along with a trained facilitator to set a quit date, build a quit plan, and work through their first few months of living tobacco-free. This program has a proven track record and has shown that people who use this program are six times more likely to be tobacco-free one year later than those who try to quit on their own. “Although I have never used tobacco myself, I have seen first-hand that quitting tobacco is hard, yet possible! In my family, I have witnessed the negative health impacts of tobacco use as well as the triumph and rewards of quitting,” Brunswick County Health Educator Travis Greer said. “If you smoke, vape, or chew tobacco, this program is for you. Empathy, empowerment, and education is what you will experience when you join this program.”
