Abstracting The Urban Landscape – Kirah Van Sickle

The urban landscape is our muse for this exploration in abstraction and distillation. Let’s consider the fundamentals of color, value and composition to embrace more dynamic, personal, visual storytelling. Urban scenes can be a challenge, rooted in geometric shapes and forms, with the addition of glass, reflective surfaces and lots of moving parts. This two-day painting intensive will provide a foundation in the context of modern masters, local imagery, demos and handouts.
